A blanket for Mom

I have been working hard to make a special blanket just for my Mom. She currently has a crocheted one made by her mother in the traditional red, white and blue zigzag.  She has recently remodeled her bedroom and I thought all she needed for that final touch was a new blanket for her bed to match her new color scheme - life at the beach! :)

The pattern was the Wavy Stripes Beach Blanket from the July/August 2011 issue of Crochet Today!  It was perfect and I truly love how it turned out.

I choose colors to represent the sun, water, sand and nature surrounding life on the beach.  

Overall, the blanket turned out to be about 58" square.  The pattern was very easy to follow and I finished the blanket rather quickly.

Time to get it boxed up and out the door. Hope she loves it as much as I loved making it for her!
